Trouble in Paradise

Yeah, so things started getting real for us here in Costa Rica. We found a place to live!
It´s like 400 square feet and is un-furnished. Un-furnished here means absolutely nothing. No fridge, stove, not one thing. We still don't have a bed so we've laid all of our clothes out on the floor to make a mock bed. There was also a hole in the kitchen which you could see through to the outside, but we blocked it up with a mixture of mud and grass.

JUST KIDDING! That is what our life would be like if we rented the first apartment we saw. It was only $180 a month but we would literally have spent like $4000 just to get beds, dressers, a stove, fridge, tables, chairs, and couches.  so we searched a bit more and found a place that is $400 a month and million times better. It's half of a duplex and has some furniture, a stove, and hopefully a fridge soon. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths upstairs and it has a good sized kitchen living room and eating area downstairs. The whole property is enclosed with walls so the dogs will be able to run around a bit when they get here. It´s in Santa Lucia which is 5 minutes by car/bus to the center of Heredia where Amy and I will be working.

HERE IS WHERE THE TROUBLE STARTS.....
So, the realtor said the place we are renting comes WITH furniture. When he showed us the place, all it had was a stove. We asked him about the other stuff and he said that he was going to lend it to us. Something like he had all this stuff in a warehouse and he was going to lend it to us. So after looking a the place (see pics of it in the PICkibbin section) we were SOLD. We were originally looking at places for $200 a month without furniture and they were all DUMPS.  Since some of the places actually had holes in the wall where you could see through to the outside, we were psyched when we saw this place WITH furniture for $400. We were like “SWEET! Were do we sign?” That is when things got shady.

We noticed after a few days of living here that we still didn’t have any furniture. The realtor said to give him a list of the stuff we needed and he would get it for us. So when we called him, he told us that the owners were getting the stuff for us.  The owners had no idea about any of this since they asked  the realtor to rent the place “un-furnished”. Needless to say the owners were PISSED OFF that this guy tricked us both.  They are going to call him and try and figure something out for us so that we can have some furniture.
