Since tomorrow is Costa Rica Independence Day, the Butler Academy decided to have a party with the students. It was fun to let loose with the people we have in our classes. Everyone brought stuff to grill, and of course I made my special burgers. I can honestly say that I think the burgers I made were possibly the best burgers in Costa Rica....EVER! The food is pretty good down here......if you like rice & beans, beans & rice, and chicken. But they just don’t know how to do the whole beef thing. I’m not sure why but they think hamburgers are supposed to be paper thin and taste like some kind of sausage. Honestly, they are gross. BUT....not when I make them with imported American beef from the AutoMercado (the gringo supermarket). So anyway....the party was fun. We grilled, drank, and spoke Spanglish. What else could you ask for in a party? Don’t forget to check out the pics on the PICkibbin page. OH.....and that weird beer is ROCK ICE. It’s this gross beer with salt and lime in it. SALT IN YOUR BEER! Don’t ask me! It’s a Tico thing I guess.
